I think they are a little soft on the issue
It is a little Eurocentric, and occasionally some fashion goes a bit too avant garde but the tone and class present here feel like a portal to some wonderfully idealized past.

I had the horrible realization that I could continously go through the security line over and over again, I’m vaguely curious what would happen on ID check, would they mark my boarding pass again? Also I have a little curiousity on when it would become suspicious. I also wonder what odd and entertaining things I could put in my bag. Maybe I could arrange something to say “Hello I am not a terrorist” that shows up on the Xray machine.
The no fly list starts to feel more and more like papers required to travel. I mean assuming the political situation turned dire enough how would you leave the country? I mean I am no full blooded libertarian but there is something about airport security that makes one feel small.
So here I am sitting in an airport an 11 hour wait till my flight wondering how hard it would be to get free beer from whatever convention is taking place in the attached hotel. I don’t even want the beer just something to pass time. Sadly as the hotel is in the airport and I’m not up for annoying the disturbingly pervasive TSA.
I did bring this on myself. I wanted to be somewhere to while away the hours somewhere where disengaging from the here and now was acceptable. What better place than an airport, anyone who can disengages here. If there is escapism at hand you grab it with both hands. I used to be annoyed by people insistent on starting up a conversation in an airport, maybe I should pity them, unable to leave the here and now. I may be there soon enough.
First place is reserved for True Grit, that said Fincher makes a compelling portrait of assholes that are still somehow relatable. Best take I’ve read comes from Salon “The Social Network”: A modern horror film.
I also can’t stress enough how good the soundtrack is, you can feel the texture of bleak when listening. “In The Hall of The Mountain King” could arguably be a defining interpretation and rightly so.
Agnostics and aetheists know more about religion than monotheists.
